Tanzania Heritage Foundation
THF was founded in 2022 by Arpakwa Ole Sikorei as a response to the growing need of identification and protection of the natural and cultural resources which allows the Maasai communities and Tanzania, as a nation, to thrive.
With a comprehensive perspective of Heritage, THF has built (3) schools in the Ngorongoro region (Alchaniomelock 2013, Nainokanoka 2019, Enguserosambu 2023), launched the Engare project to supply (5) villages (Engaresero, Pinyinyi, Enguserosambu, Mugholo, Oloswhashi) and more with sustainable and clean water and participated in the creation of (1) Maasai Cultural Center in Engaresero – a project portfolio value of over $500,000 USD.
Deeply rooted in Maasai communities, the organization works directly with local communities but also operates on a policymaking level with regional and national leadership.
Meet Our Team
CEO & Founder
Arpakwa holds a Master’s degree in World Heritage and Cultural Project for Development from Turin School of Development and a Bachelor of Science in Tourism and Hospitality Management (BscT).
Before overseeing THF’s activities, Arpakwa also worked as a project coordinator and technical advisor on various projects for the FAO and UNESCO.
From his experience and knowledge of Maasai culture, Arpakwa developed a deep understanding of the power of communities and the dynamics at play in Heritage conservation.
Arpakwa is passionate about community empowerment through education and sustainable development initiatives.
